Our Dairy Farm |

Our production, as the rest of uruguayan dairy production, is manly based on pastures with the addition of concentrates (200 grs./litre milk as an average). At the same time, we use hay, maize and sorghum silage in Winter and Summer crops (forage sorghum or corn plants ) in Summer. The area devoted to the dairy production is 530 hectares with a 90% of the area in rotation (60% permanent pastures and 30% of forage annual crops). |

An average of 400 dairy cows are milked annualy making a total production of 2.700.000 litres of milk on the last year, these being of the highest quality (AAA). The Rearing Farm of 342 hectares, settled 6 kms. from the Dairy Farm supports the rest of the cattle categories, weaned female calves to pre-calving heifers; with a soil management and rotation similar to the dairy farm area. Sometimes it provides opportunities of certain reserves here. |
